the agreed target weight and has now moved on to the post
slimming phase of the diet. His maintenance ration will be
reviewed each fortnight until we are happy he stays at a stable
weight.

Cuddles weighed 7kg in March this year. A target weight
of 5kg was agreed and she was put on Royal Canin feline obesity wet and dry
food. A daily ration was calculated based on the desired calorie intake.

With cats the weight loss is more gradual than in dogs -
about 40g per visit is usual.
Within a month of the diet, Cuddles' owners were noticing her
being more active and she had already lost 0.92kg
To date Cuddles has now lost 2.34kg and is just below her
target weight weighing in at 4.96kg. She has moved on to the post diet
phase where her calorie intake is being increased. She is still coming for
fortnightly weight checks to ensure that she doesn't put too much weight on.
