Okey weighed 34.2kg in November 2008.
Although accepting he needed to loose weight, initially his owner was reluctant
to follow an obesity diet wanting instead to reduce the quantity of his normal
food. Okey can be very fussy and she was concerned he would not eat the
recommended food.
His owner then put
Okey on a light version of his normal diet and we calculated the calorie
reduction he would need but Okey appeared very hungry.
Royal Canin Obesity and weight management diets are designed
so the quantity of food is not greatly reduced meaning hunger should not be an
issue. The carbohydrate and fat content is suitably lower than non
prescription diets.

Today Okey weighs 27.8kg having lost a total of 6.4kg which is
fantastic. Being a hairy breed, it may not be obvious when
looking at his photograph but his ribs can be felt and a waist
is definitely under that beautiful coat. Okey's increased energy is another sign of how much fitter and
healthier he is.
