Dotty weighed 36kg on her first weight clinic visit in
June 09. A target weight of 25.71kg was agreed and she was put on Royal Canin
Obestiy diet dry food. Initially Dotty lost too much weight too quickly
and her daily calorie ration was increased as if more than 3% of body weight is
lost, the body goes into starvation mode and if left, will lay down fat!
On the increased ration, Dotty then lost between 1 - 3% each fortnight which is
ideal.
 
 
Dotty currently weighs 28.2kg which is a total weight loss of
7.8kg to date. Her owners are thrilled with how successful the diet has
been. We have all agreed that Dotty doesn't need to loose any more weight
as she would be too thin if she did.
She has now moved on to the post slimming phase - her calorie
intake is gradually being increased but monitored every two weeks as before, to
ensure she doesn't put on too much weight again.
