January 2009
When Brandy first came to the practice in November 2007 he
weighed 16kg. He was already on Royal Canin Obesity diet and when he came
to a 'Weight Clinic' an initial target weight of 12kg was agreed.
We all know that is is seems easier to put on weight than
loose it and Brandy's owners have persevered with the diet being determined that
Brandy would loose the excess kilo grams.
Today, Brandy weighs in at 13.4kg which is a loss of 2.6kg.
We can see the beginnings of a waist and he is more energetic than he was
a year ago.

Unfortunately, Brandy has ruptured his
cruciate ligament, found in his stifle (knee). This could
be linked with his being overweight - he now faces surgery to
repair/replace the ligament that supports the knee cap.
We all love our pets, but it is so important that we remember
that they depend on us for everything, so despite looking like butter wouldn't
melt in their mouths, make sure you don't give them any!!
