Bracken weighed 14.8kg on his
initial visit to the weight clinic in February 2009. A target weight of
10kg was agreed and he was prescribed Royal Canin Obesity Diet His owner introduced the diet
gradually by mixing it with his normal daily food until after several days,
Bracken was being given just the
obesity diet.
Two weeks later and bracken has already lost 0.6kg
Monitoring weight loss is important - we look for a loss of
between 1% and 3% at each fortnightly visit. Bracken has continued to lose
this each time.
Today Bracken weighs 11.6kg and has lost a total of 3.2kg
His delighted owners have opted to move onto a maintenance diet
and we will be monitoring him over the next few months to ensure
he doesn't put any weight back on.
