Lala, aged 10, runs the yard at Heywood Equestrian Centre.  Her duties involve keeping the hay bales safe, scaring mice away and ensuring the horses behave themselves. 

Whilst carrying out a routine check on the stables, Lala was trodden on by Oscar who accidentally stood on her right hind leg. Needless to say he broke the bones in her foot leaving her hobbling on three legs.  X-rays confirmed three out of the four toes / phalanges were broken and her leg was plastered while the bones healed. 

Lala has now made a full recovery and, as can be seen below, she is taking her duties seriously!
