Spike came to see us with a lesion on his
right foot. After a course of antibiotics, the sore had not got completely
better and biopsies were taken which confirmed an ulcerated granuloma.
Treatment continued with another course of antibiotics and Manuka Honey
dressings were applied at weekly intervals.
While the original lesion began to heal, Spike developed
another sore around his dewclaw. Again, honey dressings were used and
bandaging continues to be applied both at the surgery and by his owners at home,
in between Spike's appointments.
Throughout his regular visits, Spike has been so gentle and
agreeable to handle and apply bandages to. He has resisted interfering
with his leg by opening presents, playing with his toy pig and relaxing on the
sofa!
