Spike, a bearded dragon, was
brought in to the surgery with a swollen left hind leg and x-rays (radiographs)
confirmed that he had fractured his femur.
Although it is not easy to see on the radiograph below,
it does confirm a fracture to the left femur
A splint was applied to Spike's leg with padding to prevent it
rubbing and it was secured in place with tape. The splint
was attached to his tail to help restrict Spike moving the limb.
Six weeks later Spike's fracture has healed and
the splint has now been removed.
