Yoda was brought into the surgery having caught his leg in the parrot cage!  He had been chasing around the room and ran over the top of the cage when the parrot caught hold of his left hind leg.  Unfortunately, in trying to free himself from the parrot's grasp, Yoda twisted his leg resulting in a fracture of the tibia and fibula of his left hind leg.

The fractured bones can be seen clearly in the radiograph on the left and the one on the right shows the plate duly screwed in position to realign the bones.

Yoda relaxes at home after his ordeal and is recovering well from surgery.  His leg can be seen with the fur shaved off - this is now growing back.
