Each month we vote for one of our
patients who has shown courage and patience when faced with difficult, painful
or long term treatment.
January 08
Tia-Betsy gave birth to
seven beautiful puppies on December 16th 2007 - three girls and
four boys. Unfortunately she then developed eclampsia
which is where the body's calcium levels are very low. If
left untreated, this is a life threatening condition.
Blood tests confirmed Tia's condition and intravenous calcium
was given. After receiving treatment, Tia-Betsy was able
to go home but having been so ill was then unable to feed her
puppies. Owing to sleepless nights and absolute dedication
on her owners behalf, all seven puppies survived and have now
become gorgeous, healthy Shih tsus
