November 2010

Jakiba was brought in as a emergency having been run over by a car.  He was being walked on an extendable lead and unfortunately ran into the road.

Amazingly, radiographs showed there were no broken bones but the wounds were contaminated with grit and dirt from the road.

In addition much of the skin from the pads of his foot was exfoliated as he scraped it along the road surface.

The wounds were cleaned and dressed and Jakiba has to come in every few days for dressing changes.

After a few days, granulation tissue can be seen and the now clean wounds are beginning to heal.  It will take several weeks until they are completely healed.

Four weeks later and Jakiba's wounds are nearly healed
