Royal Canin Pet Health Counsellor of the Month - May 2009

"We are pleased to announce that Jill Warner of The Beaches Veterinary Centre in Melksham is the very deserving winner of the Pet Health Counsellor of the Month award for May.

Jill runs a variety of clinics and clubs at her practice, and has shown great success with her obesity clinics in particular. She runs a slimmer of the month competition as well as a "pet heroes" competition for patients who have shown courage and patience when faced with difficult, painful or long term treatment.

Jill has also inspired her nursing colleagues to run clinics to tie in with their areas of expertise, runs open evenings and stalls at local events, organises very successful puppy parties, and manages an excellent practice website. One open evening of particular note was on the topic of first aid for pets, and Jill produced an extremely useful booklet on this topic, which she has sold to raise money for charity.

Jill is the first PHC to go forward to the Pet Health Counsellor of the Year award to be judged at BSAVA in April 2010".
